Abstract: Mechanical systems are crucial in sectors such as construction, manufacturing, and transportation, where relevant examples of these systems include cranes, robots, and autonomous vehicles. This talk discusses some intuitive control design methods for mechanical systems. Such strategies are based on exploiting the port-Hamiltonian structure of these systems and their passivity property.
